British people read a lot. They read books , newspapers and magazines . And they read text messages on their moblie phones . More people in Britain their hobby is read a books. A quater of the population reads more than 20 book esach year .
There are bookshops where you can buy books . And there are lots of public libraries where you can borrow boooks for free.

There are often reference rooms where you can fo to look something up or go to study . Many libraries have also got special rooms with books and photographs about the history of the area. The Queen opened its new building in 1998 . It receives a cioy of every book published in Britain and adds 3 million new items every year .
